Episode Retelling S2 E1+2

    Cheerilee and her class are taking a tour through Canterlot Gardens. The Cutie Mark Crusaders are among them. They are having a conversation while Cheerilee is talking about what each of the many statues represent. "Nothing interesting seems to ever happen around here!" Applebloom exclaimed boredly. "Yeah, not one thing has happened that would cause anything interesting to happen." Scootaloo said. "Yeah, Thrackerzod has noticed how there hasn't been anything exciting happening lately." ThrackerBotBelle said. after that, they arrived at the statue of some weird looking creature that had parts from various other creatures. "Can anyone tell what kind of creature this creature is, and what it represents?" Cheerilee asked. "It is a draconequus, a creature whose body is comprised of the pody parts of various different creatures. It represents a mish-mash of things that do not coexist in harmony. Also known as Discord." ThrackerBotBelle said. "Hey! I was about to say that, literally." Applebloom yelled. "Surprisingly enough, that's what I thought too." Scootaloo said. "Why is it that you always get to say the smart stuff?" "Because we are more qualified to do so!" ThrackerBotBelle yelled. The girls then got into a fight, arguing all the while. While they were fighting, the chest of the statue started pulsing. "Okay, that's enough girls. I want you to stop or I will give you an essay describing everything I said during this hour-long tour." Cheerilee said. They continued on their tour, and as they were moving on, the stone statue started to crack and then a cackle was heard.
    
    *"My Little Pony- Extended Version" plays*
    
    After the theme, we go to Rainbow Dash flying through the sky. While flying, a cloud dashes straight passed her. "Hey, what's this about?" Rainbow Dash wondered. She flies right into the cloud, getting caught in a sticky mess. "Hold on a moment, is this cotton candy?" Rainbow asked. She licks what the cloud is made of. "Yeah, cotton candy." Dash said. She shakes it off, and then another cotton candy cloud moves above, and starts raining brown liquid. "Wait, is this meant to be a joking reference to that one song by that one guy on the Internet? If so, then I am not amused." Rainbow Dash said. [The first two verses of "Chocolate Rain" echo in the background] "Wait. What was that?" Rainbow asked. She flies towards Applejack's. "Hey Applejack. Notice this strange weather happening?" Dash asked. "Yeah, it looks like it's based around some Internet song." Applejack said. "That's what I thought." Rainbow Dash said. As they were talking, various odd things were happening to the crops and the animals. Fluttershy and Rarity were arriving at the farm, both wondering what was going on with the weather. Rarity was wearing a stylish, fully-covering outfit to prevent any bit of her from getting wet. "Does anypony know what is going on here? Things have been getting very weird. I mean, the weather seems to be a play on some song on the Internet" Rarity said. "Yeah, I was starting to think that as well. Though I'm just avoiding it so I won't have any problems." Fluttershy said. While they talked, the apples on the apple trees grew to enormous size. A number of small animals took bites out of the apples and grew very long legs. Twilight then came by with Spike, carrying a spellbook. "Don't worry guys, I've found just the kind of spell that will help our kind of situation." Twilight said. She then produced a blaring flash of light. After it faded, absolutely nothing changed. "But... but... I thought that this would work for sure." Twilight said, dropping onto her rear in shock. But then something happened. {Guys, we need you all to hurry to Canterlot. We need to see you.} Cosmic telepathically communicated to the Mane 6 and Spike.
    
    The 7 rushed to Canterlot Castle. When they get there, Celestia and Cosmic are waiting for them. "What is it Celestia, what's with all this strange weather, how come that spell from the book you gave me didn't-" Twilight asked panickedly before Celestia raises her hoof to silence her. "I need you to come with me." Celestia said. Celestia, Cosmic, the Mane 6, and Spike went into a hall filled with stained glass windows, with hundreds more being completely bare and un-shaped, likely for when more are needed in the future. "This is a matter of great importance. It seems an old foe of mine, one I thought I defeated long ago, has returned. His name is Discord." Celestia explained. "Discord is the mischievous spirit of disharmony. Before my sister and I stood up to him, he ruled Equestria in an eternal state of unrest and unhappiness. Luna and I saw how miserable life was for Earth ponies, Pegasi, and unicorns alike, so after discovering the Elements of Harmony, we combined our powers and rose up against him, turning him to stone." Celestia explained. "Huh. I just said the original dialogue for this scene from the original episode. Anyway, due to the two of us no longer being connected to the Elements, it seems the spell has broken." "Wait, no longer connected? Why is that so?" Twilight asked. "The thing is, even though the two of us had wielded the Elements in the past, we could not wield their full potential. There exist six Elements, and each Element needs a bearer that represents it fully, for both good and bad. But now that you have shown their full potential, I believe you have the ability to defeat Discord." Celestia said. "Don't worry, Princess Celestia you can count on-" Twilight said before being interrupted by Pinkie Pie. "Chocolate- rain,-some-stay-dry-and-others-feel-the-pain. Chocolate-rain,-a-baby-born-will-die-before-the-sin. Chocolate-rain,-the-school-books-say-it-can't-be-here-again. Chocolate-rain,-the-prisons-make-you-wonder-where-it-went-" Pinkie Pie sang. "Pinkie Pie, could you not remind us what the weather looks like a reference to?" Twilight asked. "We'd be honored to wield them again." The same door opening sequence from the actual episode occurs, showing a jewel-encrusted case. "That case looks simply gorgeous. Can I have it?!" Rarity asked excitedly. "Don't worry, my little ponies. I am completely sure that you can defeat Discord with these." Celestia said before opening the case. It is revealed to be empty, with everyone gasping. "Oh-well. Chocolate- rain,-build-a-tent-and-say-the-world-as-dry. Chocolate-rain,-zoom-the-camera-out-and-see-the-light." Pinkie sang, her voice fading after the "zoom" lyric.
    
    "The Elements! They're gone!" Twilight said. "What's going on, this chamber is protected by a spell only I can break! This doesn't make sense!" Celestia said. Ominous laughter echoed through the room. "Having things make sense just lessens the fun." Discord said. "Discord! Reveal yourself!." Celestia said. He chuckles. "Have you missed me Celestia? [Discord animates a stained-glass depiction of himself] Because I missed you. It was getting very lonely in that stone prison, but you wouldn't know, since I don't turn ponies to stone. [He knocks on a stained-glass depiction of Fluttershy]" Discord said. "Enough! What did you do with the Elements of Harmony?" Celetia said. "Oh, I borrowed and put them somewhere, but seem to have misplaced them." Discord said. He makes a couple of comments on the girls' Elements. "Enough stalling, Discord! What did you do with the Elements?" Celestia asked, furious. "Oh you're always so boring, Celestia. Fine I'll tell you, but I'll do so with a riddle. 'Twists and turns will help advance the story. Then find the Elements where most would not expect them to be.'" Discord said before de-animating the window and laughing. "Is it alright to go home?" Fluttershy asked. "What  do ya reckon he meant? Twists and turns and finding them where most wouldn't expect." Applejack said. "Twists and turns... twists and turns... [She looks out a window toward the labyrinth] twist and turns! That's it! Discord probably put them in that jumbled up maze!" Twilight said. "I'm going to wait for you near the entrance. Hopefully you'll be able to find the Elements." Cosmic said. "We won't fail." the Mane 6 said. "I'm just going to go home." Spike said.
    
    The Mane 6 and Cosmic approach the labyrinth. "Do we have to go in there?" Fluttershy asked. "I don't think so! Discord forgot we had these." Rainbow said and gestured to her wings. Before she could fly, her and Fluttershy's wings disappeared, while Twilight and Rarity's horns disappeared. The four screamed for a few seconds. After that, Discord appears in a flash, then laughs. "My my, the looks on your faces now are glorious [Discord laughs]" Discord said. "Gives us our wings and horns back, Discord." Twilight said. "Oh-ho-ho no, you see, if you want to get through this game, you have to follow the rules. The first of which is that no wings or magic are allowed." Discord said. "What are the other rules?" Rainbow asked. "Oh, there's only one other rule. Everypony has to play, or the game is over, and I win. Good luck to you all, everypony." Discord said before disappearing, laughing the whole time. "Don't worry, girls. We can do this as long as we stick together." Twilight says. "Yeah! Like Twilight said, as long as we stay together, nothing can stop us." Rainbow dash said. "All right, girls, let's do this." Twilight said. "Together!" the Mane 6 said, simultaneously. After that, some hedges sprang up to separate the Mane 6 and keep them from getting out. The focus of the scene is with Cosmic Starshaper, who is outside the maze entrance, which has been blocked by more hedges, leaving it as part of the hedge wall with no opening. The voices of the Mane 6 can be heard. "Stay calm, everypony. Let's regroup in the middle." Twilight said. "Roll out!" Rainbow Dash said. "See you at the center" Rarity said. "Yee-haw!" Applejack yelled. "See you there!" Pinkie Pie said. "What's going on? Where'd everypony go? Girls!" Fluttershy yelped.
    
    After that, everything became very quiet around Cosmic. "Hm. I wonder what I should do to pass the time?" Cosmic pondered. Why don't we have a chat, Cosmic. "Good idea. I haven't had a chance to discuss things. Let's get started." Cosmic said. Okay. *An hour passes* "... and that is why Pinkie Pie has 4th wall breaking powers in the original show, while everypony else didn't. There, that's how she can do what she does." Cosmic explained. Wow, I think that explanation took literally an hour to go through. "Yeah, The powers she possesses are very difficult to comprehend. Also, we deliberately had that 'An hour passes' transition, so that you readers are left to imagine what might have been said in that discussion about Pinkie." Cosmic said. After that was said, Rainbow Dash is seen flying out, looking a little desaturated. Afterwards, the whole labyrinth falls into the ground, disappearing. Near the middle are the Mane 6, with everypony except Twilight looking a bit desaturated. Cosmic walks to them. Discord then appears. "Looks like somepony broke the first rule." He snaps his fingers, returning the wings and horns to the others. "Games over, my little ponies. You didn't find the Elements." He opens an umbrella in reverse, which makes a meow sound. "Looks like we're in for a big old storm of chaos. [Discord laughs evilly]"
    
    Cosmic goes over to Twilight. "Hey, what's going on. It looks like your friends have lost their color." Cosmic said. "I don't know. Inside the maze, it seems that everypony has been turned into the opposite of their true selves, and subsequently became desaturated." Twilight said. Discord laughs hysterically. Each of the Mane 6 display how they are the opposite of themselves. Pinkie displays a hatred towards fun and laughter. Fluttershy displays cruelty by abusing the fact Pinkie can't stand laughter. Applejack displays lieing by saying Twilight wants to split the "diamond" among them, when she said no such thing. Rarity displays greed by keeping anypony from doing anything with her "diamond" And Rainbow Dash displays betrayal by not even being in the scene. "This is just too entertaining." Discord said "Stop this. You're not playing fair." Twilight said. "Fair? I guess we haven't met. I'm Discord, spirit of chaos and disharmony. Hello?" Discord said. "How are we meant to find the Elements when you took away labyrinth before we could reach the end?" Twilight said. "Wait, you thought they were in the labyrinth..." Discord said. Discord shows Twilight the riddle scene. "Twists and turns will help advance the story. Then find the Elements where most would not expect them to be." They return to the present. "... I never said that." Discord finished. "But...but..." Twilight said. "Keep trying, Twilight Sparkle. Maybe the 'magic of friendship' can help you. Now if you'll excuse me, I have some chaos to wreak." Discords disappears in a flash. Cotton candy clouds blanket the sky, with chocolate rain pouring down. "Chocolate rain? I hate Tay Zonday." Pinkie said. "Well, it seems things have taken a turn for the worst." Cosmic said. "Yeah, and we still can't seem to find the Elements." Twilight said. "Yeah, why don't we go back to Ponyville?" Cosmic asked. "Alright." Twilight said. The other four in the background are still displaying their reversed personalities.
    
    They are walking along the road, when a herd of long-legged bunnies trample over Twilight. "Way to go, Angel. Mama's so proud." Fluttershy said. After that the sun switched with the moon quickly. "Well, it seems Discord has even gained hold over day and night. I'm really starting to wonder what reason I had in the past for giving chaos a living form. Though, at the time, it wasn't really a fully developed entity when I made it, so I probably didn't know what it might do." Cosmic said. Then, the roads turned into soap. Applejack slips and slides past the other ponies, knocking them over. "I meant to do that." Applejack said. It turns to day again. "Discord has turned the roads to soap!" Twilight said. Discord appears. "Magnificent, isn't it? This is the new and improved Ponyville, and I've only made my first few changes." Discord said. Pinkie pseudo-skates on the soap. "This may look fun, but it isn't." Pinkie said. Twilight groans. Discord appears behind Twilight and lifts her up. "Picture it. The chaos capital of the world." He raises Twilight up, and the time changes again. "I can't picture anything. It's too dark." Twilight said. "Try waiting a few minutes and it will be day again." Discord said, before leaving. "Ponyville won't be a chaos capital of the world if I have anything to say about it." Twilight said. "Don't worry, you won't." Fluttershy said. Twilight groans. "Why don't we go to the library? We might find the Elements there." Cosmic said. "I guess." Twilight said. They went off to the library.
    
    They finally reach the library. "[sigh] We're here. Will everyone please, please, please just go inside, please?" Twilight said. "I absolutely won't." Applejack said, while walking into the library. "With pleasure." Fluttershy said, stopping to stomp on and flatten a bush near the door. "I hate libraries!" Pinkie Pie said. Twilight moans, and also does a facehoof. Rarity is pushing the boulder. "We have to hurry." Twilight said. "Forget it, Twilight. I know what you're planning. The moment I go, you'll have your little minion Spike come and take Tom!" Rarity said. "Tom?" Twilight and Cosmic said simultaneously, with a 'are you serious' tone. "Well, it won't work." Rarity said. She refuses to move. "You're not going in without him, are you?" Twilight asked. "Mm-mm." Rarity said. "[grunt] Fine!" Twilight said. "Twilight, I'll handle this." Cosmic said. We go to Spike, sleeping. Fluttershy dumps a bucket of water on him. "Wah! Brr [Spike shakes the water off]! What was that for, Fluttershy?" Spike asked. "Because you seemed so comfy." Fluttershy said. "I...uh...huh?" Spike asked confusedly. After that a huge hole was made in the wall. Cosmic and the other 5 are standing outside. Cosmic is carrying 'Tom' in his right hand, holding it as if it had the weight of a pebble, and his left hand is at where the part of wall was before it was destroyed. "I feel like that would have happened exactly the same way if we got it in instead of Cosmic." Twilight said. "Hey, Twilight, what's going on? Why is everypony acting unlike themselves and have desaturated coats?" Spike asked. "Discord has turned them into the opposite of their true selves, and, as a result, made them lose their color." Twilight explained. "Hey, Twilight, what's damp and clueless?" Fluttershy asked. "Fluttershy, I've had just about enough-" Twilight said before having a water bucket dumped on her. "Your face!" Fluttershy said before slamming the bucket over Twilight's head. "What's happened to everypony?" Spike asked. "I guess you just bring out the worst in us, Spike." Applejack said.
    
    "Spike, I need your help finding something." Twilight said. "What is it?" Spike asked. "The Elements are hidden somewhere most would not expect them to be. I'm thinking that means that they are hidden somewhere too obvious to think of looking in." Twilight said. "Huh, but where would the most obvious place for them not to be hidden be?" Spike asked. "Uh, Twilight?" Cosmic said. "Yeah, Cosmic?" Twilights said. "You still remember him saying they're where most would not expect them?" Cosmic asked. "Yes?" Twilight said. "How much would you possibly expect me having them, if it might be the case?" Cosmic asked. "Oh, I wouldn't much expect you to have them. In fact, don't think anypony would much expect you to have them...... I just subconciously answered my own question, didn't I?" Twilight said. "Yeap." Cosmic said. He then brings out a large case, which appears from nowhere. Cosmic opens the chest, reavealing to have all six Elements. "Wha...huh... what? Why did you have the Elements? And that aside, why didn't you give them to us before this whole problem started?" Twilight asked confusedly. "You see, If I had given you the Elements outright, the conflict would not have been created, and the this long two-parter would have been lessened to a short one-parter. It is a necessity that a conflict be formed, or there would be no story." Cosmic explained. "Huh, at least we finally have the Elements!" Twilight said. Everypony else just sits there, unmoved. "None of you really care, do you?" Twilight asked. "Nope." the other 4 said simultaneously. "Ugh! Let's get this over with." Twilight said. "Necklace," she puts Honesty on Applejack, "Necklace," she puts Kindness on Fluttershy, "Necklace," she puts Laughter on Pinkie Pie, "Necklace," she puts Generosity on Rarity, "and big crown thingy!" she puts Magic on herself. "Come on everypony, let's go!" "Uhm, Twilight aren't you missing somepony?" Spike asked. "Nope! We've got Liarjack, Fluttercruel, Hatie Pie, and Avaricity. I think that's it." Twilight said. "What about Rainbow Dash?" Spike asked. "Congratulations, Spike. You're the new Rainbow Dash." Twilight said. "Hey, now that I think about it, where did Cosmic go? He was here a moment ago, but I don't see him anywhere." Spike said. After that, the screen fades to black.
    
    After a while, we cut to inside Twilight's house. Twilight is coming through the door, grey and having given up on friendship. She walks upstairs to pack. "Come on, Spike. Pack your things. We're leaving. I don't know where we're going. Just anywhere but here." Twilight said. Spike is lying in bed, regurgitating a seemingly endless pile of scrolls. "The princess...has been sending these...since I got up here. [belches flame] Make it stop!" Spike said. "These are all the friendship letters I've sent since I was in Ponyville. Why would Celestia send them back?" Twilight said. Spike groans, then belches more flames. Twilight reads the letters, regaining her lost color. "I've got it Spike! It's all so clear to me now! Discord has distracted us from seeing the true power of our friendship. Remember how I said Equestria's didn't rely on me making friends? In reality, the opposite is true. Our friendship is what saved Equestria from Nightmare Moon, and now it must save it from Discord." Twilight said. Spike moans in pain. "You're right, Spike. I've got to fight for my friendships. For them. For me. For Equestria!" Twilight said. Spike moans some more. "Oh...uh...why don't you stay and rest? I'll handle the fighting for friendship thing myself." Twilight said. Spike moans, then belches. Twilight goes down the stairs, meeting Cosmic by the door. Twilight skids to a halt. "Wait. Where were you?" Twilight asked. "I was just blending in. I just got this new camouflage ability for just this occasion. I'll likely completely forget about this power in the future, even where it would be useful." Cosmic said. "Well, anyway. I have no time to chat, I need to save my friends." Twilight said. "Then let's go. I have the Elements with me and ready for when you're done." Cosmic said. The two then proceed to go and revert the others to normal. They go to Applejack, then Fluttershy, then Rarity, and then Pinkie Pie. They then go to look for Rainbow Dash.
    
    They then arrive near Rainbow Dash's house. "Where is she? I don't see her anywhere." Fluttershy said. "Without Rainbow, we can't use the Elements." Twilight said. "She could be anywhere. We'll never find her." Applejack said. "Um, gals? She's right up there." Cosmic said, pointing to a small cloud with Rainbow Dash on it. "Rainbow Dash!" Twilight shouted. "Hey, guys!" Rainbow said. "We've been looking everywhere for you!" Twilight said. "That's nice." Dash said. "We need you to help defeat Discord with your Element, Loyalty!" Twilight said. "Pfft. Loyalty, schmoyalty! Ponyville's a disaster. I'm staying in Cloudsdale where everything's awesome." Rainbow Dash said. "How in Equestria does she think that tiny patch of clouds is Cloudsdale?" Rarity asked. "The same way he made you think that rock was a bona fide diamond." Applejack said. "I thought we agreed never to speak of that again." Rarity said. "Time for plan-" Twilight said before a figure in blur dashed up to Rainbow Dash, grabbed her, and brought her down, stopping to reveal it was Cosmic. "How did you move that fast?" Twilight asked. "I slowed down my time perception, which made everything I saw move in slow motion, while I appeared to move at supersonic speeds." Cosmic said. Cosmic is holding onto Rainbow Dash, preventing her from escaping or flying. "Use your spell, Twilight." Cosmic said. "Okay." Twilight said, before using the spell to revert Rainbow Dash back to normal. After that, Cosmic releases her, and they all have a group hug after thay are sure she's back to normal. They are interrupted by three dancing buffalos in tutus. "Maybe it's a bit too early for a group hug." Twilight said.
    
     We go to Discord sitting on a throne. He summons a glass, which he fills with chocolate milk, filling from top to bottom. "Chaos is a wonderful, wonderful thing." Discord said. "Not as wondeful as friendship." Twilight said. "Oh, this again?" Discord said. He then drank the glass, and threw the chocolate milk, still holding the shape of the glass, away, which exploded on impact. "Regardless of what you did, you couldn't keep our friendship broken for long." Applejack said. "Oh, Applejack, don't lie to me. I'm the one that made you a liar." Discord said. He grabs hold of the necklaces. "Will you ever learn?" Discord asked. Twilight then teleports into the middle of them, and creates a forcefield to protect them. She then sets them down on the ground safely. "I'll tell you what we've learned Discord. Friendship's not always easy, but it's definitely worth fighting for." Twilight said. "Ugh, gag. Fine, make your attempt to use your little Elements. Make it quick, I'm missing some great chaos here." Discord said. "All right, girls. Let's show him what friendship can do!" Twilight said. They then use the Elements, culminating in a rainbow forming and surrounding Discord. "Huh. What's this? No. NO!!" Discord said, before being turned to stone again, with his statue falling to the ground. The rest of Equestria is returned to normal.
    
    The scene appears to be the hall where the glass windows are kept, filled with a large crowd. Celestia is at the back, Cosmic right next to her, with Spike nearby. The Mane 6 are coming in through the door. "Today, we are here to honor these six friends for their heroism in defeating Discord and saving Equestria from eternal chaos." Celestia said. "They are a group of very great ponies that have proven that, with the help of friends, any obstacle can be overcome, no matter how difficult." Cosmic said. The crowd cheers, and we come to a close with this "Reiterative Recap"
